Abel Esau Sakiestewa

Pastor Abel Esau Sakiestewa, age 76, of Kykotsmovi Village, AZ, passed away on June 4th, 2019

Abel was born in Keams Canyon on July 23, 1942. He graduated from Gando Mission High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the military, he attended Arizona State University and completed barer school in Phoenix, Arizona. While continuing his barber career through retirement, he received several ministerial ordinations and "was about his Father's business" building churches and spreading the good news of the gospel.

Abel was married to Lynda Maria Valdez on February 27, 1965; they were married 54 years.

Abel is survuved by his wife, Lynda, two daughters, Yvette and Lydia, three grandsons, Gabriel, Daniel and Benaiah, brother and sister Willard, Jr., Beverly, Douglas, Rachel, Deborah, Rebecca and Ruth, and many nieces and nephews.

Abel is preceded in death by his father, the Honorable Willard Sakiestewa, Sr., and his mother, Alice Dugi Sakiestewa.
